The Story Behind the Method

My name is James. My experience spans Europe and Asia, where I've worked professionally and tutored privately — spending time in places where I was the outsider, navigating cultures that weren't my own. Living like that teaches you things no classroom can. You learn that language is only the surface. Underneath it is a whole world of unspoken rules, shared references, and social instincts that take time to absorb.

That experience shaped how I teach. I've sat in the same uncomfortable position my students find themselves in — where your vocabulary is fine but you still feel like you're missing something. I know what it takes to close that gap, because I've had to close it myself.
